Ch35 Renbourn Workhouse

Renbourn Workhouse (レンボーン貧救院ワークハウス , Renbōn Wākuhausu) was an institution that provided residential care to the first-string members of Noah's Ark Circus, bar Snake, as well as other destitute, oft-disabled children in London. The workhouse was subsidized by philanthropist Baron Kelvin.

Structure[]

Renbourn Workhouse was a multistory building on a hill that supplied abundant lodging space to disadvantaged children. Abutting the building was a sizeable yard with a bench for residents to be at leisure. At the entrance was an arched sign that read, "Renbourn Workhouse." Currently, the workhouse lies in ruins.

History[]

Baron Kelvin financed the operations of Renbourn Workhouse. He retrieved Joker, Beast, Dagger, Jumbo, Peter, Wendy, and Doll from the gutter of East End and moved them into the workhouse, where they were accommodated.[1]

Eventually, Joker, Beast, Dagger, Jumbo, Peter, Wendy, and Doll departed from the workhouse to form an itinerant circus troupe called Noah's Ark Circus. Kelvin handed over the remaining children to Doctor so the latter could fashion prostheses out of their bones.[2]

The workhouse crumbled due to disuse and neglect.[3]
