The Butler, Bedeviled is Chapter 129 of the Kuroshitsuji manga.

Summary[]

Sieglinde Sullivan comments on the rain, just before someone knocks on the door. Wolfram Gelzer opens it, and discovers that it is Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive, who drop off an injured Soma Asman Kadar for Sieglinde to tend to. Ciel warns Sieglinde to not carelessly open the door for anyone, even if it is him. Afterward, Ciel and Sebastian decide to head to Phantomhive Manor, as Ciel wants to be "certain" about a matter.

At Scotland Yard, Fred Abberline escorts Edward Midford to Paula, after Edward receives notice that the Midford maid has been detained by the police. Fred explains that, when they raided Sphere Music Hall, they took into custody many women who were forced to work there, one of which is Paula. Upon seeing Paula, Edward asks her where Elizabeth Midford is. An emotional Paula tells him that Elizabeth "has gone to where she belongs," and that she loves Elizabeth and cannot bear to see her cry anymore. Edward tries to comfort her, and says that they can resume their talk after they return to the manor.

Gregory Violet wakes up in a hospital in Bath, where a police officer proceeds to interrogate him about the music hall in Bath's operations. Gregory informs him that they conducted rites there to give radiance to the Blue Star, and identifies the Blue Star.

At Phantomhive Manor, Mey-Rin, Snake, and Baldroy greet who they recognize as Ciel, while Finnian has reservations.

Soma wakes up, and asks Sieglinde and Wolfram where Agni is. Upon learning that Agni is dead, Soma bursts into tears, to Sieglinde's and Wolfram's distress. Soma, then, vows to avenge Agni, and reveals that he saw who attacked him.

Ciel and Sebastian enter Phantomhive Manor, where the servants greet Ciel. Ciel is confused when Baldroy asks him why he went out "again" in the rain.

At that moment, "Ciel" descends the stairs, to their collective shock. He scolds a dismayed Ciel for getting drenched, and assures him that he will never leave his side again, and that he has come home. When the staff states that it is impossible for there to be two Ciels, "Ciel" asserts that he is real. Finnian adds that he knew something was wrong when "Ciel" came home, and calls him an impostor. Amused, "Ciel" declares that the head of the Phantomhive house, Ciel Phantomhive, is actually he.
