The Butler, Escorting (その執事、添乗, Sono Shitsuji, Tenjō) is Chapter 213 of the Kuroshitsuji manga.
Summary[]
When Ciel and Sebastian arrive in Brighton, Ciel notes that the town is "awfully busy for December." Sebastian replies that he heard that Brighton has recently become a popular place for summer vacations. Thus, when they are on their way to their destination, he tells Ciel about some of the town's various tourist attractions: the Royal Pavilion (it hosts art exhibitions and concerts), the aquarium (one can ice skate there), the theaters (they show ballets and plays), and a small amusement park. These facilities attract a wide range of customers, and the rich "unwind with spa services and shopping."
Sebastian then suggests that Ciel could use their stay in Brighton to relax, but Ciel reminds him they have not come here to holiday. They travelled to Brighton to investigate the Nectar Springs, a hotel resort that "boasts the latest facilities" and possesses outstanding service. It charges a "reasonable price" for a luxurious stay, and many guests enjoy the hotel so much that they abandon their homes to move into the resort. Further, the hotel manager is a nobleman, and because he is also a member of the Aurora Society, the Nectar Springs might be yet another blood-collection facility that would need to be dismantled.
When they pass by the West Pier, Sebastian informs Ciel that it hosts special entertainment and concerts in summer and is a popular sunbathing spot. Even now, with only the "gloomy sea" visible in winter, the pier is crowded. Ciel does not understand what the appeal of walking along the boardwalk is; after all, one can only engage in "meaningless conversation" and is at the mercy of the sea winds. One would easily get a cold like that. Sebastian cannot comprehend too why humans continue to flirt with danger when they easily can die of a bad cold.
Because the West Pier is close to their destination, Ciel then inquires what their cover identities will be. Sebastian says Ciel will pose as Colin Greville, the third son of Earl Warwick from Warwickshire, and he will be James Blackwood, Colin's valet. Warwickshire is a land-locked place which is why Colin chose to come to Brighton to convalesce from his sickness. James accompanies him because his parents are away.
A moment later, they finally arrive at the Nectar Springs. A hotel clerk greets them and asks for their names. However, before Sebastian can introduce Ciel and himself, he is interrupted by Barnabus Fairchild III, the hotel manager. He welcomes Ciel and Sebastian to Nectar Springs and states that he was awaiting their arrival—all while thanking them for making the trip from London and addressing them as "Ciel Phantomhive" and "Sebastian Michaelis."
