The Butler, Screaming is Chapter 169 of the Kuroshitsuji manga.
Summary[]
Heathfield Manor is in turmoil; as if there were an earthquake, the building is shaking and waking up the maids and the housekeeper Abbie. They rise from their beds, eager to find out the source of the commotion. In the entrance hall, they then find a mass of women, each covered only in a blanket, running downstairs hysterically. The maids recognize the women as their former co-workers who were said to have been dismissed, but Annie tells them that they have never left the manor and have been kept asleep in the basement instead.
Upon hearing her words, the maids run to alert the authorities. Abbie tries to stop them, but her shouts are interrupted by Jane pressing the barrel of a gun against her back. Jane announces that the Baron's search for his bride has now come to an end, and Abbie calls her a traitor, but Jane defends herself that her job description did not specify that she was not allowed to betray her master.
Also drawn out by the noise, Chris Heathfield comes downstairs and wants to know why his bride candidates are there. His words enrage the former maids and bride candidates and they proceed to attack him for deceiving them like that. Mey-Rin and Ran-Mao then decide to leave, making Scotland Yard take care of the rest.
Outside Heathfield Manor, Jane complains that she is yet again unemployed—and this time, she did not even receive a reference. Mey-Rin proposes to refer her for a position, but Jane declines, saying that she does not want to work for anyone who "who works his servants like a slave." She then removes her apron and bids Mey-Rin and Ran-Mao farewell. Mey-Rin and Ran-Mao proceed to head back to Ciel Phantomhive and the others.
Meanwhile at Phantomhive Manor, Undertaker sits next to "Ciel"'s bed while he is getting a new blood transfusion. Eventually, Polaris knocks on the bedroom door and comes in. Undertaker greets him, and Polaris says that he has bad news: The blood factory in North Yorkshire was destroyed and Chris taken into custody. "Ciel" laughs at his report and sits up in his bed. He remarks that this is not bad news at all as he is quite happy that his younger brother has won the first round in their first serious fight. Undertaker replies that he expected "Ciel" to say something like that, but he is cut off by Polaris who does not take the news very well as they now have less blood supplies for "Lord Sirius." He hammers against the furniture, rips at the curtains, and yells that he should have killed everyone at Heathfield Manor and squeezed the blood out of them as they are worthless. In his fit, Polaris then rams his knife into the floor and declares that he can still go and kill them all.
"Ciel" interrupts his mania and calmly reminds him that he is not "Lord Sirius" anymore—his brother is. Polaris asks for his forgiveness, but "Ciel" ignores him and instead comments that he looks pale. Unlike "Ciel", Polaris can get blood easily, but cannot function for too long without a new transfusion. Because of that, "Ciel" tells him to take a rest for the remainder of the day. Polaris then admits that he is terrified to lose yet another master as he would never find peace and does not know what else he could be and do then. After all, he is a butler "even in death."
