IMPORTANT UPDATE 4/1/14: Hi, guys, I just wanna notify everyone that I've decided against the set deadline for the applicants. It was originally April 1, but now you're allowed to keep sending in your fanart right till the end of
May, so I'm just gonna say May 31. I've come to this conclusion 'cuz a couple of people have already contacted me, asking for the deadline to be extended so that they can have more time to draw. I realize a lotta ppl tend to procrastinate drawin' if there's only a month to turn in the fanart, so I went why not, and decided to let you guys keep sendin' in your fanart without worrying 'bout any major time constraints.

But here is what's really important.
Official voting will start at the end of May, and will span for about two weeks, going all the way till mid-June. (June 21 is the beginning of summer, so we must be done before then.) So here are the warnings to those who wantsa send in their fanart 'round late May to early June...the other guys who have submitted their fanart 'round April and early to mid-May will most likely have a headstart on the votes, they basically have more time to garner votes and publicity. Those submittin' late May to early June, it's not a crime, but you should understand that there will be less time for us to show off your fanart before the winners get decided.

(To those kinda slackin' off right now and a lil' too lazy to draw, just think: There will be prizes! There will be prizes! This always motivates me to work, haha.)

More info on how the winners are chosen will be given out soon, stay tuned to more updates! And be sure to send in your fanart now that you have more time to doodle!

Extra info: Since kurowikians are the ones who are ultimately doing the voting, admins are of course allowed to participate in the event, but they are to be treated the same as every other user!

Hellooo, fellow Kurowikians! I know I've been raidin' the forums, but as yer aweshum Event Host *bows*, I've come up with an event for the spring! The last event was the Best of 2013 which concluded long ago. I'm tryna add more events to keep the community thrivin', and I'll be sure to open up a google form so y'all can send in your event suggestions. How cool is that? Haha.

Well, like my title states this event will be the
Spring Fanart Event (SFE). I know all you naturally creative artists are itching to get going with this- or at least you should be. This event will allow for good publicity and attention to your art- esp if your artwork is one of ze winners!

Basic guidelines: For this event, we will feature fanarts that of course MUST be relevant to the aweshum Kuroshitsuji series. No exceptions. Your artwork should NOT contain any foul language, suggestive/pornographic/mature content, excessively graphic/gory details or offensive/provocative themes. As far as I'm concerned we're all innocent people with clean minds, ok? Basically don't draw anything you wouldn't show your mum. Keep things strictly PG, haha. Artwork in violation of the rules will not be processed and will be immediately removed if they are uploaded to this site.

Methods of submission: There are many ways to submit your artwork for recognition. One obvious way is to reply to this post with your artwork uploaded to this site and included in your comment. Another way is to link us the URL to your artwork (deviantART, Photobucket, Flickr, etc.); you can link us it by simply commenting below or you can tweet us it
@BlackButlerWiki (you have the options of hashtagging #SFE #SpringFanartEvent #KuroshitsujiWiki). You can even email us it at
kuroshitsujiwiki@gmail.com.

Please realize that when you submit your artwork, you agree on letting it be viewed and discussed in public. If your artwork happens to win, it will be promoted unless you explicitly tell us not to and that you're just fine accepting the digital award.

Your artwork does not hafta be colored, but please don't submit something teeny tiny or incoherent and indistinct.

Important: There are four categories (as of now) and you must classify your artwork under one of 'em. (You can only have one artwork per category, but that still means you can submit multiple artworks in total; like, let's say I upload a pic under Category 1, I can still run for Category 2, but I cannot upload two pics under Category 1.)

Here are the four categories your fanart can be under (please label accordingly, whether directly on your drawing or in a caption or comment section or so):

1.
Adrenaline Rush Fanart (adventure, action, characters battling it out, intense competition, heroic save-the-day dives, visual delight, something awe-inspiring and along those lines)

2.
Givin' Me the Chills Fanart (scary mind-befuddling stuff, suspense, dark themes, holy-shiz moments, badass schemes or tactics, or just something so amazing it gives ya chills) Personal note: I think drawin' Ciel as the king on a chessboard with Sebastian as his knight is a really good choice for this one.

3.
Pack Your Bags for the Feels Trip Fanart (sentimental, touching moments, deep character interactions or pivotal self-realization; or it can contain sad, sad, crushing stuff; nostalgia, intensity, and everything else that makes you gasp, clench at your poor heart, and bumble in your seat)

4.
Castle in the Air Fanart (fantasies galore, let your imagination unleash, funny doodles, odd contrivances such as characters in unique, so-not-gonna-happen-in-the-manga situations, may contain out-of-the-universe elements; an example could be Lau ridin' on rainbows) Especially in this category, please refrain from adding inappropriate content.

Those are the categories I can think of for now. If y'all have more ideas please comment below. We're just starting out so it may be slow, but please send in your artwork! Just do the best you can. :D Don't worry, there won't be any mean criticisms and such and such (esp don't expect one from me, I can't draw for crap to judge badly of others).

This is indeed our very first year promoting this. But I really hope it'll bring about positive results. To all artists, I personally believe this is a great chance for you to get your artwork known out there (rest assured, we'll be celebrating your artwork like hell if you win). It's a good way to gain acknowledgement for your art and it'll just be a whole lotta fun participating and getting to know other artists and this wiki community and whatnot. (I'll be creating other threads so y'all can comment on the art candidates.) I remember in one of our old polls, a majority of the people voted that they would be in the
Purple House 'cuz they are interested in the arts, so I think this event is rather suitable. This wiki sincerely hopes everyone can partake!

Fate of the winners: There will be a total of
four winners (the numba of winners is proportional to the numba of categories available). There can only be one winner in each category. The winners and their aweshum fanarts will be promoted throughout the wiki. (Pretty decent way to get your deviantART some watchers, eh?) Not only that but the winners will receive a cool digital award and some type of commendation on their profiles. Also I'll have Doggy somehow arrange for the winners to bear the usertag (can be seen in the profiles): Art Laureate or something fancy like that! It'll be fun! While they revel in glory, the rest of us <s>losers</s> can just shake our fists at our screens in envy, haha. But in all seriousness, runner-ups will get recognized and everyone that participates will get a badge to put on their profiles! How aweshum is that?

So to sum it up, winners get all:
1. Thorough acknowledgement in wiki and wiki's twitter (Winners will be asked a few questions for feedback purposes.)
2. A carefully designed Digital Award for profile show-off
3. An Art Laureate usertag
4. A prestigious badge
5. $200 (no just kiddin', no one's gonna provide the moolah, haha; I know money gives the incentive, but for this event it's gonna be all on self-motivation)

The deadline for applicants is 31 May 2014 (PST)

<s>I will notify you beforehand if I plan to make any changes. The real contest starts afta all the applications are turned in; that's when we start castin' our votes, so this event will drag on all spring-long. Let's have as much fun with it as possible! You have all of March to design your artwork!</s>
