I guess I understand why "Ciel" wouldn't be worried when he lost his blood collection factory at Heathfield Manor after all he has three other blood collection facilities.
What's on your mind?

Okay, so, the reason I added this image. Look at the middle section. Agni grabbed Prince Soma's hand. Now, I know what you're thinking. What's that got to do with anything? Well, let me explain:
As we know, Soma got shot in his hand, and Agni unwrapped his own hand. He grabbed Soma's wounded hand with his right hand, the one blessed by Kali.
Now, do you remember when Soma beat up that gang in an alley? Now you're understanding, aren't you? My theory is, Agni knew he was going to die, so he wanted to make sure that such a useful power didn't go to waste. Therefor, he passed it onto Soma through blood.
Now, I'm not saying this is true, this is just my theory. If anybody agrees, feel free to let me know. But I think this might just be the reason Soma was able to suddenly take out a gang, and combined with adrenaline, you've got a superhuman.
I was reading the new chapter where Doll was revealed to be a Bizarre Doll, and now we have confirmation of her blood type!! She’s a type Canopus!!!
i'm scared of chapter 203. has no right to be that horrifying i mean its not like horrifying horrifying but the pure eeriness is just...

Chapter 190: lau the hero
Some of the panels in this chapter were straight flames, so I had to color 'em.
----
Bardie thinks he's in heaven and Nicholas is God, but turns out he's in the blood-drawing room and Nicholas is, well, Nicholas.
So what exactly is this man's personality?
Bardie muscles!
Lau being a rascal is like, "You slaughtered countless people in wars and you have the audacity to assume you'd go to heaven? Shameless!" And then he welcomes Bardie back to hell (lmao). With all the intravenous tubes, you can tell right away that Lau was a hero who donated his blood to save Bardie. (And, sure, there were other volunteers, yadda ya.)
God, what a hero. Bardie, you have Lau's royal, dragon-like blood running through your veins. You'd better cherish your life.
Ada looking like a girlboss !!! tells Bardie, homie you were about to die, but thanks to volunteers like Lau and randos you were saved. Lau reveals that his blood type is Canopus, which is the same as Bardie (and me). He also says something about, wow, blood type can transcend ethnicity / culture / background, all that.
Girlboss!
Bardie's like, lol no I seriously can't believe I survived AGAIN. And Conny's like, told ya, you got the Miracle Healer on your side, so there's no way you'll die. Thanks to that, we've got a fire panel.
Sheeeeesh.
Bardie thinks about how ironic it is for his enemy's technology to save his life. Conny and Nicholas are like haha yay we were helpful.
Ada bursts their bubble by saying, btw I'm shutting down the sanatorium literally right now. All the patients are like wtf????//
Feeling the heat, Ada is like, ok yeah I can't do this after all, I can't abandon y'all, I'll just try to gather more resources. Bardie says no, she's gotta run and hide because the enemy will send more people after her.
Lau being a hero AGAIN steps in and invites them to come to Shanghai. He says that at first he doubted everything, but after seeing what went down with Bardie he believes in the miracle now. On the inside, he's like heh! all of this will be extremely lucrative for me. To him, it's a win-win scenario because he'll get the credit while they'll be safe and sound all the way out there.
After weighing my options, I've decided that, yes, I'll move to Shanghai with Lau.
Ada is so grateful that she cries, aww. Happy ending. :)) Bardie's like, the next time I reunite with Joanna and Bardie Jr. in heaven, I'll bake 'em a pie, which is :((
Me at every 2-for-1 milk tea deal.
Meanwhile, Layla is still running around in the forest. She trips and falls, which she deserves, and she whines about Al ditching her. Then !!!!!!!!
Ronnie rox ur sox Knox helps her up!!! Dun dun dun!!!
Yana ur crazy for this one. 🔥🔥🔥
----
Wrap-up
That Ronnie and Layla panel got spoiled for me on Twitter, which was annoying.
Anyway, that seems like a good wrap-up on Ada's part of the story. I wonder what Ronnie is going to do with the Layla situation. Lau is such a hero, and Bardie is so cute. I hope they'll stay friends forever. I'm off to Shanghai now!

Chapter 189: sebbieee
Bardie winds up in a wheat field, and it's clear here that he's hallucinating, probably because of blood loss. He's back in the old times as a farmer, and Bardie Jr. slings at him before dashing to his mum, the one and only, Joanna. Joanna says welcome home and laffs at Bardie for "dressing up" in a chef uniform.
Bardie young again. :((
Bardie Jr. I literally have no other comment to make.
The return of Joanna!
That's right, now Bardie is his present-day self: older n chef-like. Bardie goes "it's a loooong story, but basically I've been working as a "chef" for our!Ciel at the Phantomhive Manor alongside similarly incompetent folks, and well.....I like 'em." Joanna and Bardie Jr. are happy for him, and now I'm crying. :)) Bardie brags about being able to make fried eggs now, and Bardie Jr.'s like ooh I luv fried eggs, so Bardie promises that he'll make tons of fried eggs for him from now on.
Look at this happy family.
The End.
Well, that's a wrap on Bardie and his life's journey!
Or it would've been.
But then the most devilish devil Sebastian Michaelis himself muscles his way into the hallucination and is like "not so fast. 1st of all, ur a liar n u suck at cooking." Sebastian's relationship with Bardie is definitely my favorite out of his relationships with his fellow Phantomhive servants.
Sebbie!!!
Sebbie is so good-looking and for what.
Bardie's like !!!. Then the ground caves in, and he nearly falls down. Clenching his foot is a group of ghoulish fiends!
(repost from my twitter) idc who this ghoulish fiend thinks he is but he's NOT lau </3
Bardie's like "!!!!! Joanna, Bardie Jr., you clearly see this, a little help here??" But bam Sebastian jumps in front and tells him that he must train some more before he's ready to serve his dishes to his family.
Sebbie, your good looks are distracting us from the story.
Bardie scrabbles to hold on to Sebastian's foot, but of course the handsome, dastardly bastard that is Sebastian nudges off Bardie's hand.
Bardie goes for a tumble into the void while Sebastian looks on proudly.
Now THAT'S how you steal the show.
----
Wrap-up
I'm happy 'cuz this pretty much indicates that Bardie will live. It's that classic symbolic thing where, if he were to stay with Joanna and Bardie Jr., his truest form of happiness, that would mark his ascent into the afterlife / the end of his life.
The ghoulish fiends and void represent the dire circumstances + obligations of his life. By falling into the void, he's being transported back to life / waking up.
Can't wait for the action, and it's always good seeing Sebastian again.

Chapter 188: layla is insufferable
Layla huffs and puffs and licks Bardie's blood off her knife. She's obsessed with the smell of her comida. Then she straight-up gives Bardie a big ol' chomp on his back. She's like "oh shit I got so hungry I couldn't control myself >__< but UT said I shouldn't eat like that 'cuz it's meaningless," or whatever that's supposed to mean. But basically we know for sure that she's a Bizarre Doll.
Girl......and that's such an awkward place to bite off too. His arm is right there.
Layla continues to blabber on to herself, saying she was just hunting for food when she conveniently saw Bardie putting a stop to the blood action. She's like Bardie is probably connected to our!Ciel somehow, but who really cares, she's stopped the rat who sponged on and corrupted Ada, their mock nightingale, or whatever that's supposed to mean. Anyway, she's now like oh my new motive is to unalive everyone back at the sanatorium. Bardie, clinging on to life by a thread, is like goddammit.
I will steal one of her hair bows to avenge Bardie.
The scene switches to the handsomest man, Lau, who's drinking tea and reading a book. I wonder what he's reading. I'd read it too. :))
Layla creeps up on Lau, thinking she could fool him. WRONG! Super skilled and fast Lau stops her effortlessly and injures her. He even casually puts down his tea like WHAT he's so cool. He tells Layla that he's been sus about her since the beginning (me too, more things in common with Lau :)).
Layla reminds me of Chuckie here.
Loml. <3
Layla's like "owieee >__<............SIKE :P" and cements herself as Extremely Annoying. She lunges at Lau and slashes his hand >:((. Then she tastes his blood and goes delirious 'cuz it's scrumptious.
Suddenly, Layla goes down. Bardie, the man of the hour, has shot her from behind like a champ. But ofc Layla is a Bizarre Doll, so this doesn't faze her (always go for the head, folks). She's like how are you alive, and he's like how are YOU alive?? Lau realizes she's a Bizarre Doll, and he's literally like fk!
GET HER.
Layla cries about her blood spilling and calls out for a fellow named Al. Lau n Bardie are like, who what where?? But no one comes, so Layla jumps out the window and dashes through the forest. She's like fk Al for not coming to her rescue and says she's going to tattle-tale to real!Ciel.
Lau tells Bardie that they should go after Layla on a horse. But then Bardie crumples to the ground. Ada runs in and tells Lau that they've got to get Bardie to the operating theatre now or he will die from blood loss.
Awww, Lau looking out for Bardie.
But then Bardie starts talking. He urges them to tell our!Ciel that he's done his mission, since the sanatorium won't give blood anymore. He proceeds to plunge a dagger into our hearts by saying that he couldn't collect his wages after all (a throwback to when he and the servants arrived on a wagon to help our!Ciel and Sebastian). He also says that he'd like to ask our!Ciel for a leave [of absence from work]. :((
If Lau is the last thing I see b4 I die, that's a damn good life.
If Bardie dies, I will throw hands at Layla through the screen.

Chapter 187: bardie <3
I luv the chapter cover, so much so that I had to color Bardie.
Ada recalls how last night Bardie convinced her to use pig blood to trick the higher-ups into thinking she fulfilled the blood quota. They got the plan in place, and Bardie told Ada to leave it to him.
Nice.
Layla aka the embodiment of 🚩 comes up behind Ada, startling her. She asks Ada if she's ok (🚩), and Ada is like uh yeah. Then Layla watches Ada walk away (🚩).
Meanwhile, Bardie is watching the wagoner on the road (absolutely adore the forest setting). A couple of hooded fellows employed by Lord Sirius decide to examine the shipment of blood. After testing the blood by having it trickle in a cup of mysterious fluids, they figure out that the blood is fake. Pissed off, they plan to unalive Ada with their guns.
W/e.
But then!!! Their driver gets shot, and the horses get hurt (the driver can go, but I'm sad about the horses). Bardie snipes and headshots the hooded fellows, and the wagoner somehow manages to get himself injured, too. (What happened to him, though? He just ran off?)
Anyway, Bardie's like, there I've done my job. He's ready to skedaddle back to the sanatorium.
Straight flames 🔥🔥🔥.
BUT THEN.
As Bardie walks off, he gets stabbed from behind!
By Layla 🚩🚩🚩.
I'm rly gonna call ur parents, Layla. This is unacceptable, smh.
----
Wrap-up
We know Layla is cuckoo, especially given that Lau's been suspicious of her since day one. She's finally doing something, but that something is hurting Bardie, so I dislike her already. I'm pretty tired of evil little brats acting up, but w/e.
I don't think Bardie will go down like this. I hope Lau will find him and move forward with destroying that place.

Chapter 186: lau <3
Hands-down, the most gorgeous chapter cover ever. I was screeching when I saw it the first time.
"Never stroke the blue dragon's head".....but I want to and I will. <3
We continue where we left off: Lau taunts Bardie and expresses his disappointment in him for choosing the let's-all-be-friends route. As I've said, if THE manz is disappointed, then I'm disappointed, too. >:((
Lau refuses to wait any further because, to him, Bardie's not picking the sensible choice. Bardie says he doesn't want to kill anyone and explains that Ada doesn't actually want to do bad stuff, but she's forced to because she needs funds to sustain the facility. He assumes our!Ciel wouldn't want him to kill them, either.
Lau proceeds to be the epitome of Man Crush Monday by telling Bardie to stfu, saying he doesn't need his opinion and calling him useless for not following our!Ciel's orders. He even sheds a little bit of insight into how he views our!Ciel right now (a mere child who's been pushed to the brink), and threatens to kill Bardie.
Bardie.....ur lucky.
Lau is being a little mean to Bardie, but we'll forgive him. The emotional side of me can see why Bardie is seeking a solution that wouldn't lead to unnecessary bloodshed, but the practical side of me can see where Lau is coming from. Their job is to wipe out any blood-collecting operations, not to waffle over what to do and lean into their emotions. Sometimes eliminating people who are too tangled up in the situation is the most efficient way, even if it's ruthless. Anyway, I enjoy any conflict that brings out this side of Lau. <3
If this is the last thing I see before I die, I wouldn't mind.
But of course Lau doesn't actually go through with killing Bardie. According to Bardie, that would be too problematic especially since he's part of a different organization (top official of Qing Bang, I'll never get tired of seeing that). Lau says he's glad Bardie is not too much of a dumbo (he's being really mean, I know, I forgive), and then attacks an unseen target after sensing a presence. Always so vigilant, this man. <3
Wow. <3
Turns out that target is Ronald rox ur sox Knox! He's been eavesdropping left and right. Luckily, he has his trusty notebook to shield him. Lau and Ronnie don't interact often, but they need to. Anyway, all parties pretend to be innocent by pushing the lie that they just happen to be there in the middle of the night. After Ronnie leaves, Lau warns Bardie to get his shit together.
Ronnie!
The next day, Mr. Wagoner visits with his wagon of goods for the sanatorium. Layla is there to help carry them. I wonder what's the deal with her, and if/when/how she'll play a bigger role because she hasn't been doing much lately. Lau noticed something weird about her before, and I want to see that come into play.
I have like 0 opinions on Layla atm.
Mr. Wagoner asks Ada for the b-l-o-o-d. Ada, although troubled, hands over the crates. Mr. Wagoner takes them with him on his wagon and goes on his merry way.
But wait! Bardie is watching from the trees, and he has his gun out. Time for action!
Bardie's fit is fire.

Chapter 184: bardie found his roots
Bardie tells Sebastian his whole history and his conflicting feelings with the natives and his drive to kill. Sebastian tells him not to worry 'cuz he's actually the most normal person in the manor since he's actually afraid of death like any ordinary human would be.
The next day, Sam and his NO-NAME grandson visit. Every time I see NO-NAME grandson and am reminded of the fact that he literally has no name, I get annoyed. Anyway, Bardie starts to get acclimated to the manor better.
Hi, our!Ciel.
Bardie's quote killed me. It was so poignant. I'll just copy it here so I can add it to his page.
"I'll plow fields all my life like my ancestors did and live an ordinary, happy life. That'll never come true. But for their sake, too, I'll set root here and keep on living."<ref>''Kuroshitsuji'' manga; Chapter 184, pages 15-16</ref>
Then !!! we're BACK TO THE PRESENT, FOLKS. Bardie wraps up his story and acknowledges Ada for saving lives unlike what he did.
Aww, Bardie being nice.
This was sweet.
Guess who's the eavesdropper. It's Ronald rox ur sox Knox! We luv Ronnie. :))
Ronnie, we miss you.
----
Chapter 185: LAU MY MANZZZZ
The cover with Ronnie and the ticking-time theme is nice.
Ronnie ominously flips through his notebook while checking the time, hinting that someone is about to be d-e-a-d. Probably Ada.
Ada tells Bardie about her history and how she opposed the old, negligent ways of nursing and wanted to revolutionize the field, but no one agreed with her. She had to switch workplaces continuously until she finally landed at the Karnstein Hospital, which connected her to a shady Aurora Society doctor who promised her that she could do whatever the hell she wanted. Basically, AS agreed to fund the Athena Sanatorium on the condition that she delivers her patients' blood for "research." She was like, well, this is kinda sus but yay. Seeing the news about the Sphere Music Hall intensified her doubts, but she ignored all of that to prioritize and protect the sanatorium and its patients.
A little while ago, AS demanded more blood (we know why), and she's worried 'cuz that will severely harm her patients, but if she refuses then there will be no more funds to keep the sanatorium going.
Bardie dramatically points a gun in Ada's face to drive home the point that if she keeps drawing blood he'll have to send her to her maker. Buuuut if she agrees to stop then he'll be her ally. He knows that her intentions are genuinely good. She promises to stop and tells him that the next blood collection is scheduled for tomorrow.
Something will definitely go wrong.
Bardie knows that he has to work quickly. He tells Ada to act normal and zips off to strategize.
However!!! He didn't get far!!!
'Cuz he's suddenly ATTACKED. And by who??///
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LAU!!!!!!
MY MANZ LAU, who tells Bardie that he's disappointed in him (basically for playing nice and having morals, lmao).
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

2011 me had such EXCELLENT taste for mancrushing on Lau, and it's still going strong and for good reason, too. :D I named myself after him, and he never made me regret it. I wanna cry.
You know what, since Lau's disappointed in Bardie, hell, I'll say I'm disappointed, too. Bad, Bardie. >:(( I'm ride-or-die for my manz.
Literally can't wait for the next chapter. Lau being so cool on the month of Valentine is so fitting. Thank you, Yana.

Chapter 183: this chapter gutted me
The village gathers for a meeting to talk over their dire situation with the natives. Basically, the natives have been wrongfully deprived of their food, and to make ends meet they've been attacking and stealing. Some of the folks want to fight back with guns, but Bard is against that 'cuz it would just escalate the violence. He suggests selling their food for cheap, but they don't have enough money + resources for that. The entire meeting is a failure.
Bard looks clean.
Bard goes home to wifey Joanna and tells her everything. Bard Jr. says dw y'all, even if anything happens, Mum's food will make everyone smile. They enjoy a peaceful, wholesome dinner.
I like Bard's house.
:))
Bard and Joanna are so cute.
By the next scene, the village is up in flames 'cuz of the natives. The farmers can't fight, so they scram instead. Bard runs home and sees it on fire. He goes inside and finds Joanna and Bard Jr. dead. :((
His hopes and dreams of a happy, ordinary life are shattered, and he grieves for his family. Man, I'm devastated.
:((
Bard is numb now, and he picks up his farming tool and goes back outside. A native shoots him with an arrow. Bard doesn't have anything else to lose, so he doesn't hold back. He bludgeons that guy to death.
Damn, Bard almost looks like a titan from AOT.
Bard sees his fields up in flames, too. Since he's lost everything, he knows there's no point staying there. He walks off into the distance.
This is a captivating panel.
Wrap-up
I'm mourning all of Bard's losses. Like, damn, this is intense. We already know this was going to happen, but it's still sad seeing it unfold, especially after we've seen how happy Bard was with his family.
I'm guessing next is Bard's adventures in the military. But if we skip that and return to the present, I wouldn't complain.....
See you next year!

Chapter 182: this is gonna hurt
Sebastian and Bard's chit-chat leads to Bard explaining his past in great detail. We're getting a flashback within a flashback, I see. Just when I was like, how could Yana possibly extend this mini-arc any further, there she goes. :)) To be fair, it's necessary to see Bard with his fambam.
Bard grew up as a farmer in a family of farmers during the Gold Rush. He was pretty apathetic about his life, no goals, no ambitions. Almost makes you wonder how he landed Joanna. Jk. Anyway, his ancestors always taught him to show gratitude to the natives. Important.
Here's Bard being bored with life. He almost looks like he can be Finny's older brother.
One day, Joanna approaches Bard to exchange her milk with his wheat. She's a pretty, youthful, lively girl. Now, their conversation..........yo, I didn't expect it to play out like THAT. I can't believe Bard went and compared her bosom to "round bread" that looks "delicious." My question is, HOW DID HE LAND JOANNA WITH THAT LINE. I can't believe she even bantered back with, "If you're gonna eat 'em, make sure there are no leftovers." Well, I declare, I sure didn't reckon Bard would have this much game.
Here is Joanna.
Damn, I can't believe Bard has game like that.
I do like the transition from Bard all flabbergasted to Bard all delighted at their wedding. :)) I also like the montage of them living together and having a son......whom they so creatively named Bard Jr. :))
Yay, happy wedding. They're lucky to have each other.
It was a little disheartening to see Bard's happy expression transition into an older Bard being weary. For years, he continued to farm like his ancestors. What made him happy was his family. He just wanted to grow old with them. I'ma cry.
Bard Jr. is so precious.
Awww, it's so sad that Bard lost everything.
Then, everything changed when the natives attacked. Not really digging this image of the natives being super violent and brutal, but we'll see how this unfolds.
